HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY JEWELRY?

Real .925 Sterling Silver will tarnish over time. If you want to polish your pieces, you may use a silver polishing cloth found at your local jeweler or on Amazon. You may also take your pieces to your local jeweler for a cleaning.

Do not take your jewelry for a swim!

WHY DID YOUR PRICES CHANGE?

We believe in creating the highest quality products at a fair price. Therefore, we don't apply an insane markup to our items like other brands out there. Since we use high quality metals, sterling silver and gold, our pricing sometimes changes when there is a significant increase in raw gold and silver prices.

WHAT ARE SAPPHIRES?

Sapphires are notable for holding our attention over the years. This gemstone has great toughness and belongs to the corundum family, therefore, it is an exceptional gemstone. They come in every color of the rainbow. Except red. Sapphires are a 9 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness.

WHAT IS STERLING SILVER MADE OF?

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925. Fine silver is 99.9% pure and is generally too soft for producing functional objects; therefore, the silver is usually alloyed with copper to give it strength while preserving the ductility and beauty of the precious metal. We guarantee that our products are made with .925 silver content or higher.

WHAT IS A PRONG SETTING?

A prong setting is a metal base with prongs that extend to its girdle to hold the some securely in place.

HOW ARE GEMS MEASURED?

Gems are measure in Millimeters (mm).

WHAT ARE GEMSTONES?

Gemstones are naturally occurring, precious or semiprecious minerals that are valued for their beauty, rarity, and often, durability. These minerals are cut and polished to be used in jewelry or other decorative applications. Gemstones can exhibit a range of colors, clarity, and brilliance, and they are often prized for their aesthetic qualities. Examples of gemstones include diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and various types of quartz (such as amethyst and citrine), among others. The value of a gemstone is influenced by factors such as color, clarity, cut, and carat weight, commonly referred to as the "Four Cs."

WHAT ARE LAB CREATED GEMSTONES?

Lab-created gemstones, also known as synthetic or man-made gemstones, are gems that are produced in a controlled laboratory environment rather than being formed naturally in the Earth's crust over geological time. These gemstones are created using advanced technological processes that mimic the conditions under which natural gemstones develop but in a more controlled and accelerated manner.

Here are key points about lab-created gemstones:

Formation Process: Lab-created gemstones are typically made by either melting and crystallizing the required elements or by using other methods such as hydrothermal growth, flux growth, or the Verneuil process.

Composition: While natural gemstones are composed of minerals formed through geological processes, lab-created gemstones have the same chemical composition as their natural counterparts but are produced with the help of human intervention.

Consistency: One advantage of lab-created gemstones is that they often exhibit more consistent color, clarity, and quality compared to natural gemstones. The controlled environment allows for precision in creating gems with fewer imperfections.

Affordability: Lab-created gemstones are generally more affordable than their natural counterparts. This is because they can be produced in larger quantities and with fewer resource constraints.

Ethical Considerations: Some individuals prefer lab-created gemstones for ethical reasons, as they do not involve mining practices that may have environmental or social impacts.

Identification: Advanced gemological techniques may be needed to distinguish lab-created gemstones from natural ones, as they can share similar physical and chemical characteristics.

Common lab-created gemstones include synthetic diamonds, synthetic rubies, synthetic sapphires, and synthetic emeralds. These gems can be virtually identical to their natural counterparts, and their popularity has grown due to both ethical considerations and the ability to create gems with specific characteristics.

WHAT ARE THE DISTINCITION BETWEEN NATURAL AND LAB-CREATED GEMS?
The primary contrast between lab-created gemstones and natural gemstones lies in their production methods. Lab-created gemstones are fabricated in a controlled setting using advanced technology, ensuring a more consistent quality and color compared to the variations found in nature over millions of years. On the other hand, natural gemstones are crafted by the Earth's natural processes, resulting in imperfections due to the prolonged formation period.

Distinguishing between natural and lab-created gemstones can pose a challenge, but certain key features aid in differentiation. Let's delve deeper into the disparities between natural and lab-created gemstones:

Appearance: Lab-created gemstones are frequently composed of more economical materials, presenting a more uniform appearance. Conversely, natural gemstones shaped by nature's gradual processes, exhibit unique variations in color, clarity, and cut. It's essential to note that both types undergo grading based on the four C’s.

Cost: Natural gemstones, being rarer and requiring extraction from the Earth, command higher prices. In contrast, lab-created gemstones are generally more affordable due to mass production.

Durability: Lab-created gemstones are often crafted from sturdier materials, offering increased resistance to wear and tear. Natural gemstones, with their organic origin, may be more delicate and susceptible to damage depending on the specific gem.

Value: The value of natural gemstones is elevated due to their natural formation process and rarity, making them appreciable assets that tend to increase in value over time. Conversely, lab-created gemstones typically hold less value initially, providing affordability upon purchase but yielding lower returns on investment if ever sold.
